The Palazzo Pitti's Main Gallery is located on the left side of the entrance. This Gallery houses a huge collection of over 500 artworks mainly from the Renaissance period that belonged to the Medici family's private collections. Titian, Raphael, Corregio, Peter Paul Rubens, and, most crucially, Petro De Cortona are among the artists represented in the collection.
The remodeling of the Florentine academy in 1748 resulted in the creation of this gallery. It houses a diverse collection of paintings and sculptures from the 19th and 20th centuries. The room is filled with historical paintings and artworks. Giovanni Fattori's well-known Maremma landscapes are among the most well-known. This is one of the most visited areas of Palazzo Pitti.
The Royal apartment is a 14-room suite where the Medici family previously resided. These quarters were largely outfitted throughout the Medici era and as late as the nineteenth century. This apartment displays collectibles and other types of furniture, such as four-poster beds. These rooms also had a lot of Medici portraits, most of which were painted by Giusto Sustermans.
This building is also known as the Silver Museum. This includes, above all, the chambers that were originally used as the Medici's summer residence. The "Medici Treasure," which includes semi-precious stone vases, rock crystals, ambers, and ivories, is housed here. The Museum features a section dedicated to contemporary jewellery, as well as a collection of jewellery from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
The Museum of Costume and Fashion is housed in the Palazzina della Meridiana, which is adjacent to Palazzo Pitti's southern wing. The Museum is divided into thirteen rooms, six of which are on the front side. Historical clothing from the beginning of the 18th century to the first two decades of the twentieth century is on exhibition as part of an educational agenda that emphasizes the evolution of fashion and fabric over time.
